About This Brick Life

Hi, I’m David. I’m Kate’s other half, the one who keeps her buried in bad memes and keeps trying to get her to play MMOs with me (we are up to Diablo 3, 4 & Stardew Valley). I’m one of those elder millennials that remembers when there was no internet, not even dial-up, and didn’t get my first cell phone until I was 20 – though I do tend to go through them pretty quickly nowadays.

When I’m not trying to rebuild a Magic deck or get through the latest JRPG, I work as a data analyst for an amazing local company. I spend much of my professional time working from home, sharing a somehow big enough office with Kate and our two dogs and two cats, drinking entirely too much coffee and Fresca.

Hi, I’m Kate. I’m David’s other half and the one that gets to enjoy the Avocado Toast. I have always been a nerd-gamer and lover of all things LEGO. I’m that younger Gen X’er that grew up with Kirk as my captain, Risk as my go to game and Aeon Flux as my first animated idol. We share our house with Roxy & Riker, our 2 Corgi’s, who think they run the house, however our 2 cats Linus & Beskar would beg to differ.

Now that our daughter is graduating into her own life, I find myself starting a whole new phase in my AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) life. Now with a bit more time on my hands, it has allowed me to develop and build commissioned LEGO & chain mail jewelry pieces for my friends and family. My day job keeps me in the LEGO lifestyle I enjoy and if I’m not elbow deep in a LEGO or craft project, you can also find me gaming with David or just laughing at his dad jokes.
